Jan is far more than a dietitian. She has been practicing the art of coaching of eating for better health for over 30 years. Jan’s nutrition related presentations have been vast, from lectures to interactive workshops to written news articles and interviews on radio and television. She has presented to lay people, educators, social workers, dietitian/nutritionists, physicians and a number of local New Orleans middle and high schools.

Jan specializes in integrative and functional medicine nutrition, an evidence based, patient-centered and systems approach to helping people achieve whole health, with diet and nutrition as the central focus. This modality addresses the cause of disease and dysfunction, rather than suppressing the symptoms, to treat the underlying etiology.

Jan has worked in many settings, from eating disorders treatment units, to medical/surgical hospitals and clinics, to out-call private practice. She is a nationally known speaker for nutritional counseling and coaching with eating disorders and food phobias. She is adjunct faculty at East Jefferson General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, and also a certified LEAP Therapist. Jan specializes in food sensitivity, migraine, fibromyalgia and other inflammatory conditions.
